SPECIAL NAAAP MEMBER INVITATION -- FILM SCREENING OF "TAILOR MADE" --documentary of a Chinatown Story -- FEB 9th, 2008
NAAAP VANCOUVER invites NAAAP members to attend a special community screening of "Tailor Made", a documentary on the Wong family's famous and storied tailoring business in Chinatown, and the related tales of life during some of the earlier days of Chinatown -- a fascinating trip back in time to learn more of the history of a part of one of Vancouver's great ethnic neighbourhoods. One of the members of the Wong family, Mr. Milton Wong, is a well-known leader in Vancouver for his lifetime contribution to multiculturalism, diversity, social justice and philantrophy. This is a great event to learn more about a unique Asian story and about leadership in our Asian community. The screening will take place on Feb. 2nd, 2008 -- at 319 Main St. (formerly the Chinese cinema on Main and Hastings). The proposed screening times are 3pm and 5pm with a reception scheduled afterwards -- more details will be posted shortly.
RSVP is MANDATORY at our website.
The screening is also looking for some volunteers from our members to help out with ushering and ticket collection. Please contact naaap@naaap.bc.ca if you would like to join the team, help out and meet some community leaders.
